As we move into the middle of February, the one big holiday or made up holiday as Hallmark can attest to is Valentines Day.  In ancient times, Valentines Day or St. Valentines Day honored one or more of the early saints named Valentinus and is recognized as a significant cultural and commercial celebration especially here in the US.  Although one could argue that the cultural significance of the holiday has taken a backseat, the commercial celebration of the holiday still runs very strong today.

Just walking down the street in your neighborhood downtown, you will see banners, balloons and roses strewn all over the place as stores try to capitalize on this day. Restaurants run special set meals for you and your loved one to enjoy a night out.

But in terms of us mongers, the day is also special.  One term near and dear to our hearts is that of the ATF, the All-Time Favorite.  They become the ATF for one reason or the other. We shared a special bond during our times together.  She provided us with exceptional service over and over again.  It is our chance to show appreciation for the service they have provided us.  It is well documented that some mongers give red envelopes to their ATFs during Chinese New Year, but ATF's come in all different races as well.
